Havant girls rugby squad was formed in
September 2003 by Amelia MacPhee, following the club involvement with
Active Sports in schools. We currently run two teams, one at U15 and one
at U18.
THE SOLENT
SIRENS ARE LOOKING FOR NEW TALENT
The Solent Sirens
the Girls teams formed by an alliance of Havant and Petersfield Rugby
Clubs are looking for new players. We want sporty girls aged between 13
and 18 to join the most successful Girls side in the South of England.
Last year the Sirens reached the semi-final of the National Under 18 Cup
and were third in the South of England league. We supplied 14 players to
Hampshire, 10 Players to the South regional side and 1 to England Under
20's, but this year we want new talent to move us further forward again.
We will be holding introductory days on: - Sunday 17th August at
Petersfield and 24th and 31st August at Havant. These are open to any
girls who live in the South East of Hampshire whether they have played
any sort of Rugby before or not, this is a chance to try Rugby out and
see if it is for you.

Katie joins the Blues
Katie
Sage of Havant RFC and Club Hampshire has been selected for
the Oxford University Womens Blues Squad within the first
few weeks of joining Pembroke College, Oxford. Katie who
played on the left wing in the Blues first fixture against
Exeter University has played from the age of 6 at Havant.
She was a founder member of the Havant Girls side in 2004
and went on to play 5 seasons for Havant, the Solent Sirens,
Hampshire and the South at all age levels.
Her coach and father at Havant and Hampshire Viv Sage said
‘Katie has played Fly Half and Wing for Club, Cluster and
County and wing for the most successful Under 18 Region and
though she is small her pace and steely determination more
than make up for her lack of inches.
Katie herself just says ‘bring on Cambridge, my Club and
County need an Oxford Blue’ |
