Contacts
We play/ train every Sunday,
training sessions start at 10.00am and we advise turning up
about 9.45am ready for the warm up. Any child wishing to
have a go is encouraged to come along and see if they
like it, there is a £5 fee this covers 5 sessions giving
children time to
decide if they wish to continue so no pressure to join from
the first session.
Our normal training involves a warm up, various practice
drills to improve key skills and of course some fun games as
well as tag games.
What to Wear-
Being warm and comfortable is obviously most important;
children need to come dressed for all weather. As the
weather gets colder we advise that children wear layers of
T-shirts or skins under rugby top or fleece, tracksuit
bottoms, wooly hat and gloves, rugby/football boots or
trainers. Please also bring a water bottle.
Coaching will not be cancelled if it is cold, wet, too
windy and so on, we just gauge how the children are enjoying
the session (the wetter and muddier are generally more
enjoyable!) and adjust the length of session accordingly.
It is only when the pitches are frozen or absolutely
waterlogged when coaching is cancelled – if you think this
may be the case, please watch the website in the early
morning for notices, we also try to communicate
cancellations by email and by text so having contact details
is an advantage.
As well as having home training sessions, we have matches
against other clubs and this can be Home or Away as well as
Festival tournaments (where 4 or more teams play in a league
and the go forward to knockout). There will be some
traveling involved. When the children are playing away there
is no training at home.
Parents/guardians are always expected to stay pitch side
unless they have agreed with someone else to take full
responsibility for their child.
Finally our age group had a great season last year, our
coaches have worked so very hard to ensure that every child
has enjoyed every session. Please do not hesitate to contact
me with any questions and please do come along and join in.
