As a Coaching Team, we have noticed
that your fitness levels are not quite at the level that we would like. In
order to address this, we have put together a routine that we would like to
invite all of you to participate in.
The routine consists of 7 exercises performed on a daily basis – over a 10
week period. The exercises will take no longer than 12 minutes (maximum)
each day. At the end of 10 weeks, your fitness will be significantly above
average. You may well find that the routine for the first 2 weeks is rather
easy. However, do not jump ahead to the following week as we want all of the
squad to be at the same level. Just make sure you perform the exercises with
quality in mind as opposed to rushing them through.
We are hoping that you could all start at Week 2, as Week 1 is very easy.
However, given the fact that its half term and many members of the squad are
away, everyone can start on week 2, commencing next Monday. Until then, for
those of you not away, complete week 1 and perform full Press Ups as the
first exercise – as opposed to Half Press Ups.
Please print off the attached document (link below) and have a go. we are
hoping that you’ll find this routine fun and enjoyable; it should not be
seen as a chore. Your rugby (and other sports) will benefit significantly
from this routine and we would really encourage you to participate. We will
assess your progress at training and this will contribute towards team
selection. Also, in order to keep progress of where you are in the programme
use the progress chart on page 2”.
