Havant Minis Celebrate Success at Trojans
Festival
Havant minis proved a force to be reckoned with yesterday at the Trojans
festival, with the U8s, U10s and U11s taking away the silver. Sadly the
U9s just missed out, runners up in the competition and the U12s runners
up in the plate. The U7s, many playing their first festival, were semi
finalists.
The damp dismal conditions did little to dampen the passion and spirit
of Havant players at the Trojans Festival on Sunday 28th October. They
took on all the key teams in the area including Trojans, Portsmouth and
Fareham & Gosport. Players from as young as 6 travelled from Havant to
take part, the competition spanning the minis age groups, U7s to U12s.
“The minis results at Trojans Festival is fantastic,” said Youth
Chairman, Gill Gray. “There is such a love of rugby at the club, and
it’s wonderful to see children as young as six having so much fun. Many
playing at the festival yesterday also attended our October camp last
week, and met a player destined for the world stage – Danny Cipriani.
His current form is phenomenal and may just have added the extra bit of
magic for our players yesterday.”
